Kent & Carissa
Carissa and Kent have been working as a team in the Denver area since 2005. Having started in a salon with a strong focus on advanced education, unique opportunities were opened up which shaped them into the stylists they are today. They choose to specialize in their individual disciplines in an effort to elevate the level of service each client receives. Both Kent and Carissa are members of the Arrojo Ambassador Art team and facilitate Arrojo education in Colorado and the surrounding markets.
Kent, (He/Him) the cutter, found early on in his career his innate ability for cutting and styling curly hair. This inspired him to explore all hair types especially those that may be challenging to other stylists. He boasts an extensive array of cutting talents and techniques to please clients with even the most challenging hair types. Kent is proficient in razor cutting and is sought out for it's lived in effect.
Carissa is an experienced professional in the hair industry, having worked alongside Kent for an impressive two decades. Her expertise lies in various aspects of hair care and styling, with a specialization in color, chemicals, hair loss, and extensions.
One of Carissa's key strengths is her ability to create modern, low-maintenance looks that can complement Kent's haircuts or stand as unique styles on their own. This versatility allows her to cater to the diverse needs and preferences of her clients.
In addition to her work behind the chair, Carissa also plays a significant role as a lead educator and Creative Director at Latherhouse. In this capacity, she shares her wealth of knowledge and skills with the team, aiming to elevate their abilities and enhance the quality of service they provide to clients.
Carissa's dedication to her craft, extensive skill set, and commitment to ongoing education make her a valuable asset in the world of hair styling and care.
This journey of hair and beauty, as a team, has provided them incredible insight and a rare opportunity of building a style that allows the influence of two creative perspectives.
"Advanced education has been at the forefront of this process since the very beginning. New services and add on services play a big role in accomplishing a client's goal. We can add extensions to the hair for length or density or to fill in areas and achieve a result that would normally not work for that clients hair type. Sometimes we use keratin to straighten hair or loosen curl. We offer Malibu C treatments to prep hair or remove undesirable color and we have Olaplex #1, #2, and #3 for treating severely damaged hair. It has taken us a long time to understand the needs of the people that choose us as their hairdressers. We are constantly evaluating and upgrading to meet everyones needs and we love it. We are in an era with new technology that is changing the way we look at hair"
